Our Policies

Our sustainability management is governed by an overarching sustainability policy. The policy commits all Group business units to compliance with high standards of ethics and business integrity, environmental management and employee and community welfare.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the Group Sustainability Policy [PDF 165KB] and the Board has appointed external advisers to support the design and implementation of improvement programmes.


Our industry faces a wide range of environmental challenges including climate change, the use of hazardous materials, and increasing environmental legislation.
The Group Environmental Policy [PDF 165KB] applies to the Company and to all subsidiaries worldwide. It commits the Group to prevention and control of pollution, minimising environmental impacts, to eco-efficiency, and to adopting responsible environmental practices. The Group is also committed to compliance with all applicable environmental regulations in each of the jurisdictions in which it operates.


Spirent is committed to improving our social impact and internal management systems to ensure the well being of our stakeholders.

Our workplace practices are governed by a suite of HR policies and our Business Ethics Policy [PDF 100KB], which applies to our global operations.

The Business Ethics Policy commits Spirent to the highest standards in human and labour rights, employee conduct, and compliance with all applicable legislation. It prohibits corruption and bribery, unethical business practices, political contributions, and governs conflicts of interest and gifts. The Board oversee the implementation of the Ethics Policy.

Our employees are encouraged to report any concerns either to the management team or through a confidential hotline, as described in our Whistleblowing Policy [PDF 100KB].

Our policies maintain the highest standards of diversity and equality (as described in our Diversity Policy [PDF 120KB]), health & safety, stakeholder engagement and inclusion.

Supplier Code of Conduct

The purpose of our Supplier Code of Conduct [PDF 100KB] is to establish standards to ensure that working conditions in our supply chain are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that business operations are environmentally responsible and conducted ethically.

Spirent has used the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition Code of Conduct v5.1 as the basis of its supplier code of conduct but has included some additional requirements on performance reporting. Suppliers should understand that a business, in all its activities, must operate in full compliance with the laws, rules and regulations of the countries in which it operates.

The Code encourages Suppliers to go beyond legal compliance, drawing upon internationally recognized standards, in order to advance social and environmental responsibility and business ethics.

In alignment with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the provisions in this Code are derived from key international human rights standards including the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.


The Board seeks to build and maintain good governance structures and thereby appropriately manage risk in the business. The Board continues to be committed to high standards of corporate governance and fully supports the principles laid down in the UK Corporate Governance Code.
